Which roofing contractors are the biggest in the US?
The best-known ranking is Roofing Contractor magazine's annual Top 100, which orders roofing contractors by the revenue they report. The 2026 list, ranked on 2025 revenue, puts these companies first:
- Leaf Home, Toledo, Ohio: about $2.09 billion, all residential
- Tecta America, Rosemont, Illinois: $1.6 billion, all commercial
- Flynn Group, Mississauga, Ontario: $841 million in US revenue, all commercial
- Roofing Corp of America, Atlanta: $652 million, 90 percent commercial
- Infinity Home Services, Brookfield, Wisconsin: $523 million, 85 percent residential
The list is built from what companies choose to submit, so it is not a census: the magazine notes that CentiMark, second on the 2025 list, did not submit for 2026. The magazine also reports that a residential company took the top spot for the first time in at least a decade.
| Rank | Company | 2025 revenue | Mostly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Leaf Home | $2.09 billion | Residential |
| 2 | Tecta America | $1.6 billion | Commercial |
| 3 | Flynn Group (US only) | $841 million | Commercial |
| 4 | Roofing Corp of America | $652 million | Commercial |
| 5 | Infinity Home Services | $523 million | Residential |
| 6 | Nations Roof | $500 million | Commercial |
| 7 | Baker Roofing | $356 million | Commercial |
| 8 | Stronghouse Solutions | $352 million | Residential |
| 9 | Greenwood Industries | $350 million | Commercial |
| 10 | Omnia Exterior Solutions | $335 million | Residential |
What does the biggest-company list tell you about your roof?
Very little, and the list itself shows why:
- Most of the top ten are commercial roofers. Six of the ten mainly roof commercial buildings: flat roofs on warehouses, schools and stores, not the roof on a house.
- Most are owned by private equity. The magazine marks seven of the top ten as backed by private equity, which tells you about their owners, not their work.
- Revenue measures size, not workmanship. A company can be large because it works in many states; the crew on your roof is the one that matters.
What a list of national companies cannot tell you is who will answer the phone in Omaha when a storm comes through, who pulls the city permit, or who you will call about a leak five years from now. Those are local questions, and the checks below answer them.
Which roofing manufacturers are the biggest?
Manufacturers make the shingles; contractors install them. The names most people know are manufacturers:
- GAF, part of Standard Industries, describes itself as North America's largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer
- Owens Corning reported $4,437 million in roofing segment net sales for 2025 in its annual report to the SEC, the one large shingle maker that publishes audited roofing revenue
- CertainTeed, part of Saint-Gobain, is the third name usually grouped with them
- Malarkey Roofing Products, an Oregon shingle maker, became part of Amrize when Holcim spun off its North American business in 2025
- IKO and TAMKO are large family-founded manufacturers
No neutral, published market-share ranking of shingle makers exists, so treat any precise share you read with caution. Rocket Roofing General Contractor installs Malarkey and Owens Corning shingles, among others, on residential roofs in Omaha; the hail-resistant roof guide compares the products that hold up best here.
What do manufacturer certifications say about a roofer?
A certification is a manufacturer vouching for a contractor, and it matters most because it can change the warranty you can get. Each manufacturer runs its own tiers:
- GAF has a Certified tier and its Master Elite designation; GAF says only about 2 percent of roofers in North America are invited to become Master Elite, and only Master Elite contractors can offer its Golden Pledge warranty
- Owens Corning runs a Preferred Contractor network and a Platinum Preferred tier with a workmanship inspection and $1 million of general liability insurance; only Platinum Preferred contractors can offer its Platinum Protection warranty
- CertainTeed credentials contractors as ShingleMaster and SELECT ShingleMaster
GAF's share is its own figure. Check any certification on the manufacturer's own contractor locator, not on a badge in an ad. Rocket Roofing General Contractor is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a GAF Certified Residential Roofing Contractor, and both can be checked the same way.
| Manufacturer | Tiers | What the top tier adds |
|---|---|---|
| GAF | Certified, then Master Elite | About 2% of roofers in North America are invited to Master Elite, per GAF; only Master Elite contractors can offer the Golden Pledge warranty |
| Owens Corning | Preferred, then Platinum Preferred | A workmanship inspection and $1 million of general liability insurance; only Platinum Preferred contractors can offer the Platinum Protection warranty |
| CertainTeed | ShingleMaster, then SELECT ShingleMaster | CertainTeed publishes no share for its tiers |
Who are the best roofing companies in Omaha?
No official ranking of Omaha roofers exists. The "best of" lists that come up in a search are built by review sites, directories and lead-selling services, each with its own method, and some rank companies that pay to be listed. Treat a list as a place to find names, not as a verdict.
What the strongest Omaha roofing companies have in common is checkable:
- A local office you could drive to, on the state registration and the BBB profile alike
- A City of Omaha contractor license and a permit pulled for every job over 2 squares
- Insurance proven by a certificate sent from the agent
- Years of reviews on more than one site, with the hard ones answered
- A manufacturer certification that unlocks a stronger warranty
- A written estimate that lists every line, after an inspection you can watch
Rocket Roofing General Contractor is headquartered in Omaha and publishes its Google reviews word for word, with links to every review on Google and to its BBB profile.
How do I find the best roofing company in Omaha?
Judge the company that will do the work, with checks anyone can run in an afternoon:
- State registration: every contractor working on property other than its own must register with the Nebraska Department of Labor, which has a public search
- City license: inside Omaha and its three-mile jurisdiction, building contractors need a City of Omaha license, and the city notes that a business license filed with the State of Nebraska is not a building contractor license; its licensing page has a license search
- Insurance: a certificate of general liability and workers' compensation, sent by the contractor's insurance agent
- Manufacturer status: checked on GAF's, Owens Corning's or CertainTeed's own locator
- Reviews and complaints: reviews on more than one site, read for jobs like yours, and the BBB profile's complaint history and how the company answered
The guide to checking a roofer in Nebraska walks through each check, and the guide to telling when a roofer is lying covers what to check in the sales conversation.
Can I trust online reviews and BBB ratings?
Both help, read the right way:
- Fake reviews are illegal. The Federal Trade Commission's rule banning fake reviews and testimonials took effect October 21, 2024. It bans fake or AI-written reviews and paying for reviews that say something positive or negative.
- Google removes fake engagement. Google's policies ban paid or incentivized reviews and selectively asking only happy customers for them, and Google may show a warning on a business whose fake reviews it removed.
- BBB accreditation and the BBB rating are different things. Accredited businesses pay for accreditation review and monitoring; the BBB says its letter rating is based on complaint history and how the business deals with customers, not on whether it pays.
Read reviews for detail, not stars alone: the job, the crew, how a problem was handled. A run of short five-star reviews in a few days says less than a few long ones over years. Rocket Roofing General Contractor is a BBB A+ Accredited Business; its BBB profile shows the rating and complaint history.
